I don’t even care if it works, the sheer marketing genius of the term MAGAnomics is enough to sell me all by itself. In case you haven’t heard, this is what Office of Management and Budget Director, Mick Mulvaney, dubbed the Trump economic plan. A unified theme of tax reform, the regulatory accountability project, energy dominance, welfare reform, infrastructure, trade policies, trade, and spending restraint.
I haven’t gotten to pour over all the details yet, but it sounds good on its face. The Trump administration wants to drive capital investment by lowering the tax and regulatory burdens on industry. Simultaneously, they want to keep wages up by restricting immigration, and discourage dependency by reforming welfare and getting people back into the workforce. That sounds like an economic plan to Make America Great Again if I’ve ever heard of one.
Sadly, we can expect congress to butcher it wherever their powers permit. Just like the Obamacare repeal effort, the wall, and basically everything else that the Democrats dislike.
On the bright side, John McCain has brain cancer, and if you thought that was joyous news, the cherry on top is that the doctors say it is and “extremely aggressive” form. That could sort of explain a lot, eh? A really aggressive tumor in the brain of a warhawk communist sympathizing RINO? Has cancer itself been voting on behalf of the people of Arizona this whole time? Would brain cancer have been controlling the nukes if he had won the 2008 election?
