It’s perfectly feasible these days to live in a car. You can park at an all-night Wal-Mart or at a truckstop on the Interstate, where you can get a shower and do laundry. It’s even possible to hold a job while living this way. It’s the cellphone and the common availability of free wifi that make this lifestyle practical.

In the winter, you will want to have a good sleeping-bag and a couple of two-liter bottles of water that you can heat in a microwave oven to keep you warm at night.

If you have a laptop computer and a power inverter (obtainable in auto parts stores) you can get Internet access by parking outside of a Denny’s restaurant or some others. Or, go inside and use your computer while you eat.

Get a PO Box for receiving snail-mail.

If you don’t know how long you will be staying in a particular area, sleeping in the car is a good way to maintain the option of leaving at any time without paying through the nose for a hotel room or losing a deposit.

I don’t know how the court would view this, since they might want to know exactly where you are staying, but I did this for several years in Virginia, with the help of a friend who allowed me to use her physical address for legal purposes.

Very interesting and insightful comment. I may have to put this advice to use one day myself.

  • Congrats Chris. So happy you’re out. I can’t wait for the next real show, gonna be a fucking scorcher.

  • What kind of fucking provision is that? Innocent until proven guilty, but can’t leave to go work? WTF.

I have listened to every episode from your behind the bars Podcast. What a bunch of shit you have endured. Chrisopher Cantwell is 2017’s model political prisoner.
